HOLIDAY DRINKS!

Christmas and New Year’s Eve are coming up. That means family gatherings, lots of food and, for us, libations.

We tend to gravitate toward classic cocktails like manhattans, martinis and old fashioneds, but the New York Times recently had some really good-looking recipes. Which one will you be drinking?

Looking for something else? A hot alcoholic beverage, perhaps? Our boilo recipe is popular and goes down well this time of year.

Cheers!

Drinks are on Feaston

With all the cooking we do at Feaston, sometimes the kitchen heats up a little too much in the summer and, of course, a good sweat is always a sure thing while standing over a flaming grill.
Needless to say, we get thirsty. But we’re pretty sure there is a mandate somewhere about summer evenings and cocktails. Mainly, that you need one to cool off.

We have a blog?

Oh, hi! Happy New Year!

Wow, things for the Feaston crew have been a mad house for the last couple of weeks. Running around, Christmas, family, New Year, etc. etc.

We’ll get back to our regular posting later this week. But we can’t leave you with nothing, so check out a list of what Feaston was drinking over the holidays after the jump.

Apple Pie Boilo

Well, you are in for a sweet, boozy, boilo treat.

If you follow us on Facebook (and really, you should), you’ll know that we’ve been celebrating and discussing this whiskey-infused drink for several weeks. And we are finally getting around to sharing the recipe.

Lucky you!

Tequila Shot Salmon

This started out as a honey-lime salmon. We were trying to reclaim a taste of summer. But then we forgot to buy limes, and remembered how good tequila is in food, so there you have it. A happy mistake!

This is super easy to make and it’s ready in a flash.

It's a tasty morsel. See that beer in the background? It's a Miller High Life. Yeah, we went there.

The (Alcoholic) Taste of Fall

We have booze on the brain — I’m not afraid to say it.

In a few weeks, we’ll be heading off to the Lehigh Valley Brew Fest to, um, taste the finest of the valley has to offer or something (actually we’ll be getting shit faced). But until that party rolls around, we have to be content with homemade cocktails.

And this one is perfect for the time of year.

The name of this drink is also the ingredients! Convenient!

Thirsty Thursday: Chimay Ale

In between blogging about what’s for dinner and what’s for drinks, Feaston has decided to move. Yeah, that’s right. We’re getting new digs. With a new kitchen. And a stove that we’re not totally thrilled with, but that’s another post for another day.

The point is: we have been packing a lot of boxes lately. And nothing goes with packing like a nice, refreshing beer.

Specifically, this:

Chimay Ale. It's malty.
